PNM “Serving better to spreading welfare”

The buds come out from Dandelion flowers spreading floral pollen into cotton balls that
reach out in all places to disseminate seeds becoming newly growing plants.

Dandelion flowers also reflect the meaning of “welfare”, a perfect analogy of PNM 2008 Annual Report theme, which is “Bringing the service closer, reaching out welfare” through the development of Micro Capital Service Unit (ULaMM).

In medio 2008, PNM had introduced a breakthrough in bringing the service closer to the micro and small enterprises (MSE) as a continuing development of numerous activities carried out during the last decade, including those conducted through the micro finance institutions.

Through the direct financing service program to Micro and Small Enterprises (MSE), known as UlaMM or “Micro Capital Service Unit”, PNM has doubled the target of financing program.

ULaMM was initially founded in 2008 by establishing 12 service units speading in the Java Island, which later in 2009 is targeted to operate a minimum amount of 190 units during its first semester in various parts of the archipelago as “One Stop Shopping” outlets for the SME entrepreneurs. This direct financing program is disbursed comprehensively along with its related technical assistance supports.

PNM realizes that such innovative financing program will provide the right solution for economic development of the people as well as driving the wheels of real sector activities. By using the right approach the Company is targeting the achievement of PNM beneficiary into 1.2 million SME in 2009, along with its multiplier effect of around five million people.

This is one of the realizations of PNM’s development in improving its role for empowering independent and reliable economy of the nation for the people’s welfare.
